Its always lovely to make new acquaintances, and as soon as I saw The Twigs portfolio, I knew I had to bring them into the Lake Vyrnwy family.

With such an eclectic and vintage feel, Twigs Branch Photography is a definitely a breath of fresh air in the wedding industry right now. The Twigs have been lovely enough to write us up a little piece explaining who they are and what they do, so grab a cup of tea and take a look…

We are The Twigs, a husband and wife dynamic duo who’ve been shaking up the wedding photography scene since we launched our business back in 2013.

If you are looking for for a traditional photographer for your UK, destination or elopement wedding, we’ll lay our cards on the table right now… we’re not your bag. We’re for the wild hearts, the misfits and the rebels. Those square pegs in round holes who wont settle for ordinary. Traditionalists need not apply.

We’ve spent years perfecting our postmodern vintage style. Its our mix of cutting edge technology and specially adapted vintage lenses, as well as our use of both digital and film mediums, that gives our photos their signature retro vibe.

Paul (aka Mr Twig) is the fave behind the lens and Suzi (aka Mrs Twig) manages the biz ({and Paul!)

Fun fact: our surname isn’t actually Twig, its Wilkinson. Our clients crowned us “The Twigs” and it just sorta stuck. Its a bit like having a superhero alter ego so we’re cool with that.

Being “The Twigs” means more to us than just a funky nickname. Its us “our brand” if you will. Its who we are.

Coming from a background in creative arts (Paul) and press & media (Suzi) we’ve been able to really build our business from the ground up, doing almost everything in-house, creating a strong identity that is 100 per cent pure Twigs.

Everything you see is us through and through and it this personal approach that we pride ourselves most on, right down to offering complimentary pre-wedding shoots- or Love Shoots as we like to call them- with all our full day packages. The reason we don’t charge extra? Building real connections with our couples is at the heart of what we do, we create relationships and part of that is getting to see how people respond in front of the camera before the big day. Spending a fun filled hour or two with your photographer in advance of the wedding and having some pretty epic photos to boot makes for a much more relaxed approach to your wedding photography. And it’s a privilege we won’t ever charge for.
